Of course, I couldn't leave with Samuel. The drama for that night wouldn't have played out as planned if I had gone with him.
"Who'll take you back later if I leave?" Samuel asked.
I chuckled lightly. "Leo is here, so there's no need for you to worry about that."
"I dare you to say that again!" Samuel set Yvette down on the couch, grabbed my arm roughly, and looked as though he wanted to tear me apart.
Yvette started crying again, her sobs soft and pitiful. "Don't go. Don't go!"
She stumbled to her feet, leaving Samuel no choice but to release me and hold onto her instead.
Yvette clung tightly to Samuel, and he seemed a little flustered because the drunk Yvette was unusually clingy that night.
Eventually, Samuel's face darkened as he spoke. "Wait for me here. I'll be back!"
With that, he left with Yvette.
I rubbed my temples and stood up. "I need to go to the restroom. Leo, feel free to do as you like."
