It was impossible that Gideon had bitten his own lip. Clearly, someone else had done it. And given the way his lip was marked, it had to have been a woman.
I must have been staring at his lips too long because he chuckled and raised his hand to touch the wound. "Don't you remember?"
His words threw me off balance.
"Remember what?"
"If you don't remember, it's fine. Let's just get in the car." Gideon's expression shifted, and he opened the door to the driver's seat and sat down.
I sat in the passenger seat, still confused, thinking about the words Gideon had just said.
What did I forget about that night? Could it be that I was the one who bit his lip?
But I didn't remember anything like that. I had been so drunk that night. Was it possible that, in my foggy memory, I had done something out of line with Gideon?
It seemed that Gideon had no intention of bringing it up or confronting me.
I fastened my seatbelt, realizing that this was the first time I'd sat in the passenger seat
