However, after sharing the gossip, Mina no longer seemed concerned about the affect it had on Jane's emotions.
She looked at Jane very seriously and said, "Jane, I have something to discuss with you."
Seeing Mina's uncharacteristically serious expression, Jane also sobered up and replied solemnly, "Mina, please speak."
"If Harold ever does something bad in the future, could you help me plea mercy on his behalf to our brothers? You can even ask them to send him to a boarding school, but never to force him out into the streets, to become a wandering child or be sent to an orphanage. Can you do that?"
Jane solemnly nodded his head, "Don't worry, Mina. I will not let Harold be driven out, not even sending him to a boarding school."
