Returning to her apartment, Evelyn noticed several muddy footprints by the entrance, finally understanding the reason behind them. It turned out she hadn't been dreaming the previous night—Langin had indeed been there. She replayed the security footage from the living room and saw the entire confrontation between Langin and Damon. After Damon left, Langin had punched the wall in frustration before slamming the door on his way out. No wonder Langin was so agitated. The Holton and Hilton families had always been rivals, and Damon’s sudden appearance not only disrupted her plans but also revealed her true identity to Langin, making him wary. After all, she genuinely wanted to catch Langin’s attention to build a better relationship and create more opportunities for collaboration. Evelyn soaked in the bathtub, massaging her temples as she considered how Damon seemed like a punishment sent by fate to make her life difficult.
