Chapter 22: Elin's Birthday

Evelyn pursed her lips, feeling a sourness in her heart. Elin had lost her parents at a young age, so did that mean she should endure her husband’s favoritism toward Elin? But had he forgotten that she too... She didn't notice Damon stopping in his tracks as she continued walking slowly, her tone calm and distant: "You don't need to explain yourself to me. I understand." Damon realized he had misspoken, but it was too late. He quickly stepped forward, grabbing Evelyn’s arm just as she was about to get into the car: "It's only natural for a husband to inform his wife of his whereabouts. Elin is sensitive and often worries that I will ignore her after getting married. I was afraid she'd overthink, which is why I planned to go this year too..." She coldly shook him off, her eyes icy as she interrupted: "Whatever you think and do has nothing to do with me. Go and be with her. Since she lost her parents and you are her only elder, she must be hoping for your presence right now." The
