Damon paused, taken aback. Evelyn folded her arms and said, "You always act after the fact. You knew I didn’t want this, yet you didn’t refuse Grandmother first." "You just want to keep me here, and now you say this, making you seem hypocritical and insincere!" Damon’s deep eyes were shadowed with dark circles. He rubbed his brow hard, saying, "So that’s how you see me!" Evelyn laughed coldly and turned her gaze away. "Stop acting. I know what Lady Linda is thinking.
