Chapter 10 No Need to Explain to Her
Brian took a sharp breath, glaring fiercely at Damon.
Damon’s expression was complicated, his clenched fists betraying his inner turmoil as he charged towards the boat.
He had always cared about results over processes, but now his actions had put Evelyn in danger.
If he could rescue her, he would... he must make it up to her!
Brian couldn't believe how clueless Damon was.
"Wait! We’ll split up. I’ll go east; you go west. That way, we’ll be faster."
"Fine," Damon paused. "The timed bombs will go off in about fifteen minutes. If you can’t find her in time, get out."
Brian was already striding into the boat.
"Same to you. You can leave first, but if I don’t find her, I’ll die with her!"
The moon was bright, the abandoned boat swaying with the waves. Evelyn, lying on the top deck, shivered and slowly regained consciousness, struggling to free herself.
She had been slapped twice, hitting her head on a cabinet before losing consciousness.
