Chapter 61
“Just pull over. I have something to do, so I’m not going home just yet,” I said suddenly.
“Where are you going?” Henry asked.
“Let’s not get involved in each other’s private affairs,” I replied coldly as I unbuckled my seat belt.
Henry glared at me and pulled over by the roadside. “Get out.”
I immediately got out of the car and went to the sidewalk. Then his car sped by.
If Laurel asked him to pull over in a fit of anger, he would never leave, right? Henry wouldn’t even let her get out of the car.
I smacked my head. What was I thinking? Why was I comparing myself with Laurel? I was clearly not as important to Henry as she was.
I hailed a cab and said wearily, “Please take me to the nearest bar.”
