Sure enough, this trick was very effective. However, Henry stared daggers at me. “You’d better be ready by 8:00 a.m. then. I won’t wait for you if you’re a minute late.”
“Okay, I’ll get up at 7:30 a.m. I still need to put on some makeup.” I flashed a sweet smile at Henry.
I had it all thought out. I wanted to learn more about how Henry and Laurel’s relationship developed. After I divorce him, I can write their love story from an ex-wife’s perspective. I was sure people would be interested.
It would make me a lot of money, so it was a great deal.
The next day, I got up on time, applied light makeup, changed into a modest outfit, and went out with Henry.
