With so many experts present, the second round of grading didn't take too long. Soon, all of them agreed that a perfect score was theoretically possible for the paper. The only controversy was that essay.
As the head of the State Department of Education, Egbert naturally became the final judge of it. Xavier handed him the paper for the language arts exam. Egbert immediately flipped to the last few pages, where the essay was.
After reading a few lines, Egbert was taken aback. He then frowned. Lucas, an associate professor who was standing next to him, was worried that Egbert might not be satisfied with the essay.
He spoke up, trying to offer a more positive perspective as he said, "Although his language was rather sharp, his arguments were truly eye-opening. This doesn't seem like something a high school student from the countryside could produce. This seems like the work of an economist with a broad worldview. I really admire this essay—no, in fact, this is an economics thesis."
