Josh remained calm as he replied, "I'm waiting for someone to bring my admission ticket."
Kevin paused for a moment. He was waiting for someone to bring his admission ticket?
"Such an important item, and you didn't prepare it in advance? Really…" Kevin shook his head and returned to his post, disappointment etched on his face.
Oliver and Ava felt even more ashamed. They couldn't help in such an important matter. They felt like failures as parents.
But Josh remained composed, unfazed by the situation. As he had said earlier, if fate decided he wouldn't make it to the college entrance exam this year, he could always try again next year.
A temporary setback might lead to regret, but it wouldn't be a regret that would last forever. As time ticked by, the exam hour drew closer, and hope began to fade.
Finally, Josh couldn't help but say to his parents, "Let's just go."
