Egbert glanced at Xavier and asked, "What do you think of the outcome of today's meeting?"
Xavier gave a wry smile and said, "Honestly, not that great. Not only do the county and town officials lack any clear understanding, but even those from the city seem to have no clear ideas. The few suggestions that they offered don't meet our current needs at all."
"But, then again, we don't have any better ideas ourselves, do we? Otherwise, we wouldn't have come here for this meeting," another person remarked.
Egbert chuckled bitterly. The school merger reform sounded simple on paper, but there were countless challenges to overcome. It was precisely because they lacked any solid plans that they had hoped to brainstorm some solutions.
But the session turned out to be fruitless, leaving Egbert even more concerned. Without any clear direction, he was unsure how they were supposed to move forward.
