Hector watched the chaos unfold. His eyes twitched in anxiety, and he was too afraid to step forward lest he be caught in the fray himself.
Ultimately, the village chief approached, using his age and status to help diffuse the situation. With Josh's assistance in persuading them, he managed to pull the fighters apart.
Although Caesar was beaten to a pulp and fear gnawed at him, he still stubbornly retorted, "If you have the guts, kill me! Otherwise, I won't let this go!"
"Sure! Do you think we're afraid?" Several burly men from the distillery were ready to jump in again.
Josh quickly intervened, saying, "Thank you all for your help, but fighting is ultimately wrong."
"Fighting may be wrong, but if they can hit you, we can hit them!"
"If I take a beating, the authorities will handle it afterward. But if you get caught fighting for me, I won't be able to live with myself. I know you're looking out for me, so thank you!" Josh bowed deeply to express his gratitude.
