Chapter 28
"Here, this is shepherd's purse, this is ma lan, and this is wormwood..."
Willow was holding various wild vegetables, identifying them one by one for him. "Shepherd's purse and ma lan are fresh and fragrant; wormwood is crisp and savory. There’s also nipplewort, purslane, and fern bracken; whether they're blanched and served cold, stir-fried, or made into soup, they are all delicious."
Jason was listening attentively.
As he learned to identify and pick them, he was also helplessly salivating.
In actuality, he had eaten wild vegetables before. He would sneak a bite when he was foraging for firewood and extremely hungry. But they generally tasted bitter and thick, not delicious at all.
Yet he didn't understand why. Now, as he listened to Willow's description, he felt that these wild vegetables sounded incredibly appetizing.
He was yearning to try them right now!
Would they taste better than egg pancakes and Minestrone soup?
