Chapter 2
Ariana struggled frantically, her slender wrists were scratched by the coarse nylon rope, and fresh blood seeped down slowly, highlighting the stark contrast against her fair skin.
But she didn’t care, the physical pain was nothing compared to the relentless torment of her heart.
On the screen, her biological parents were tied to chairs, surrounded by raging flames. The searing inferno enveloped them, slowly consuming their bodies.
Every frame on the LCD screen was crystal clear, so much so that Ariana could see her father convulsing in agony, and her mother’s cry of sheer despair, each scene causing her intolerable pain.
"Ahh!"
Ariana let out a painful scream, her eyes bloodshot red.
Jane was a little frightened, but then she realized that the woman in front of her had her hands tied and had no power to fight back. The fear in her heart disappeared. She looked at the man next to her with a flippant manner, “Vincent, it seems Ariana is in a lot of pain.”
Ariana bit her lip so hard that it seemed like her eyes were about to pop out.
She finally understood how the White family villa had suddenly caught fire, and why her parents were tied up and couldn't escape from the disaster despite being in the prime of their lives.
Turns out, Vincent had planned everything since the start, gradually swallowing the White family, step by step.
"Vincent, how dare you kill my parents!"
This heartless creature. The White family had treated him so well, but who would have thought that the man standing before her was a proverbial wolf in sheep’s clothing, devoid of any shred of conscience!
Vincent did not deny it. Since he dared to let Ariana know everything, he already had a plan for her. He indifferently retrieved a dagger from the drawer. The sharp blade glinted coldly in the light, sending chills down one's spine.
"Ariana, if you want to blame something, blame the fact that you are the daughter of the White family."
Vincent, holding the dagger, stood towering over Ariana. Looking at the hatred in her eyes, he suddenly let out a chuckle, and then a “piercing” sound echoed.
It was the sound of the blade entering her abdomen, yet Ariana didn't feel a shred of pain.
At this very moment, her heart was filled with hatred, glaring at the man in front of her as if wishing to take him with her, to seek revenge in the next life.
"Vincent, you won't get away with this, even as a ghost, I won't let you go!"
Ariana's stubbornness agitated Vincent greatly. His rage deepened. As if venting his anger, he stabbed her again and again.
One strike after another, each one reaching deep into the flesh.
Gradually, Ariana's consciousness began to disperse, yet even with her dying breath, she wanted to clearly remember the face of her sworn enemy. In her next life, she would return this pain a thousand-fold.
After an uncertain amount of time, Jane could not bear to watch any longer. She shuffled closer, looking at the woman whose face held an expression of death, and cautiously said, "Vincent, she is already dead."
She was dead, yet her eyes remained wide open as if refusing to die.
At this moment, Vincent's hands were already stained red. He glanced casually at the already cold Ariana and threw his knife away. A smirk formed at the corner of his lips, "I'd love to see who stops me!"
Truly, Ariana wasn't ready to die, not like this.
Ariana floated in the darkness, rapidly recalling every scene from her previous life as if viewing flowers while galloping on horseback. She was suffering through the torment, wishing to escape but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't move. It was as if her hands and feet were bound.
"Wake up, Ari, are you okay?"
Suddenly, she opened her eyes. The sight that greeted her was a familiar lovely face. Quickly standing up, she took the woman's hands, her voice filled with disbelief, "Allison, you..."
Wasn't she dead?
"Ari, why are you so agitated? Did you hit your head?"
Something is wrong!
