Chapter 59 - Pleasing the Luna
His keen senses noticed movement in the darkness as he moved. He stopped, and his brows narrowed when he saw Luke walking toward the storeroom.
Luke made his way to the storeroom door, looked around to make sure no one was looking, locked it firmly, and left. Damien watched from the shadows.
Ella stared down at the small package on her lap as she sat on her bed back in the barracks. Luke had given her a gift, a small gesture that had taken her by surprise.
She took her time opening it and saw that it was a locket necklace. The silver locket had a small shape, with her name elegantly engraved on a delicate pendant.
Ella felt a wave of emotion and put her palm to her chest. With everything that had been going on, the gesture was almost too sweet. Although she was moved by the gift's kindness, there was something off about it.
