Chapter 25 - A New Home
Ella watched for a little while, observing as Luke sped off, his vehicle disappearing along the path until it was reduced to a mere dot in the distance.
“Well, you're not going to just stand there, are you?” a voice yelled at her.
Ella jumped, startled as she turned to look at the face behind the voice.
“Forgive me sir” she said humbly and began to hurriedly pack her things.
“Stop!” he ordered and she obeyed and stood upright.
He was tall and built, his face so grumpy that it looked like his lips were curled into a frown meanwhile, that was just his resting casual face.
“Forgive me sir” she said again, and suddenly, he burst into a cheerful laugh.
“Forgive my silliness child, welcome to the barracks” he said as he approached her.
“I believe you must be Ella” he said,
“Yes sir” she said and reached for Lydia's letter and handed it over to him,
