Lydia sat in the darkened room, the walls glowing softly from the flickering light of a solitary candle. Once a haven, the room felt more like a prison as she barricaded herself inside and wouldn't come out. She was having trouble breathing because of the weight of the previous events pressing down on her chest and her heart, which was heavy with grief and uncertainty. She sat beside the window and gazed blankly out of it at the night sky. The pale light of the full moon peeked through the drapes, casting an unsettling silver tint across the chamber.
