Chapter 126 - Rest in Peace, Alpha
Luna Anne whispered quietly, her voice quivering from the weight of her grief,
"Lydia, come with me”
After remaining silent during the meeting, Lydia nodded and went with her mother out of the council chamber and toward the medical area. As they entered the area, the air was dense with the smell of antiseptic and the faint buzz of medical equipment as usual.
It was strangely quiet. The doctors gave them a quiet greeting, grief and sympathy mixed together in their eyes.
As Luna Anne walked toward Alpha Brannon's room, her heart raced. She felt a knot of cold fear tighten in her stomach, but she forced herself to ignore it because she had to be strong for Lydia, her husband, and everyone else who depended on her.
However, as they got to the door, one of the doctors moved forward to block their way, his face was serious as he spoke, and Luna Anne felt her surroundings start to blur.
“I'm sorry, my lady, Luna Anne, but, Alpha Brannon has passed away” he said sadly.
