CHAPTER EIGHTY-TWO THE PUNISHMENT, THE EXCUSE, THE BABY
JAVION'S POV
Freya took a deep breath, her hands trembling as she held the baby closer. "Javion, the prophecy… Saksera’s words… I couldn’t ignore them. The plagues, the storms—they all started after he was born."
"That doesn’t mean he’s to blame!" I shouted, my emotions boiling over. "He’s just a baby, Freya. My son. Our future."
"I know," she said, tears streaming down her face, mingling with the rain. "But I couldn’t risk it. I couldn’t stand by and watch our pack be destroyed."
"You betrayed me," I said, my voice breaking. "You took my son away. You, who helped bring him into this world, are now trying to take him out of it."
Freya’s face was crumpled with grief. "I didn’t want to hurt you, Javion. I just wanted to save the pack."
"Save the pack? Wh... wha... And Damon? Did he help you?" I asked, the realization hitting me. "Was he working with her?"
