XANDER'S POV Sitting in my room, the dim light casting long shadows on the walls, I found myself restless. Thoughts of Daphne swirled in my mind, her defiance and the pain in her eyes haunting me. I clenched my fists, trying to shake off the frustration. Just as I was about to pour myself a drink, I heard it—a distant scream, followed by the frantic pounding of footsteps. I shot up from my chair, my heart pounding in my chest. What the hell was going on? The noise grew louder, more chaotic. I threw open the door, stepping into the dimly lit corridor.
