My lips caught the smile again, like they had almost twenty-two years ago laughed at Thomas old jokes, and then I realized it’s been two decades and I was standing by the flower section in a mall looking for the perfect flower to get to him in the hospital with a lot of complications between us, even if we tried so much to straighten things up. There was still a lot I knew he wanted to say, even if he had not found the right time or moment to say it. As much as I thought that I had let everything go, there was still an undeniable part of me that yearned for those words he wanted so much to give out. But was it right to sit back and listen? I had no idea. After staring at the yellow petals for a while, I placed the flower down and picked up the one with the card. A yellow card is stuffed in between the petals.
