Chapter Seventy-Six Drunk
I returned home to find Evans preparing dinner. Its aroma saturated the entire house, and I got starving. Evans was devoted to preparing a tasty dish without distractions; to achieve that, he requested that I get freshened up and come back downstairs for dinner.
I agreed as I joyfully stepped out of my heels, picked them up, and dashed into the bedroom. I was climbing the stairs in a flash. Evans just stopped, smiled, and continued.
Moments later, I was out. Evans had set the meal on the table.
"Are you really sure you had a bath?" He asked jokingly while bringing out a chair for me to sit on. I laughed, "No I didn't. I turned on the shower and allowed the water to pour out, then I turned it off." I retorted. Not smiling. "This looks yummy." I said, grabbing my cutleries.
"So, was it today? Lunch with Joyce how did it go?"
