Chapter Fifty-One: Always a Friend
The white petals of the lily glistened as Angela watered them. Just like every other occupant in the neighborhood, her porch was finely decorated with bright flowers. Purple dandelions lined up in one straight line in their water pots, accompanied by another line of water pots of sunflowers that matched the rays from the sun. I was greeted by the buzzing insects and the chirping birds before meeting Angela's eyes. It has been more than a month since the incident at the office. I had fled out in rage after Evans heard about the kiss, even if I didn't utter plain words to her about my ruined relationship being her fault.
My distance spoke volumes.
