I hope I sounded more confident than I feel. My knees were weak and my mouth had gone paper dry at the thought of offering myself up as bait, but I also knew that with the others here, I'm in no real danger. So I took my spot across from the others, clicked on the safety of my gun, and slid it into the holster on my thigh.
When Justine gave me the signal, I brought my hands together, clapping as loudly as I could. Even though there were three of her prey in front of her, they were silent and unmoving.
