Chapter 18

Charles waited in his car for Naomi to reply all this while as he did not want to be driving when Naomi messaged him. He waited for Naomi for almost half an hour now, but he did not mind this at all. The moment Naomi's message came through, he dialed her number. He froze momentarily when he registered what Naomi's soft voice was telling him. She was inviting him to her house? Liking someone meant that you would do anything to be by her side, and so it was natural for Charles to look forward to meeting Naomi's parents, but he never thought this day would come so soon. He could not help but feel a little taken aback by this. Charles fell silent upon hearing this, and his silence suddenly made Naomi realize how awkward of a situation she put him in. After all, not everyone was like Amelia, who frequented Naomi's house so often as though it were her own. Naomi could not help adding, "Sorry, Charles. I didn't realize how abrupt this invitation would be. I don't mean to come off so
