After finishing his sentence, Dylan frowned. "That's impossible. Why would he bring up something like this on his own?"
It was not exactly a shining moment to brag about. Besides, Scott was not the type to share personal matters—even with close friends.
Jonas listened to the incredulous voice on the phone, sipping his drink without a word. He seemed completely uninterested in whatever Dylan was about to say.
When silence lingered on the other end, Dylan hesitated before speaking again. "Did you talk to Scott?"
Jonas replied lazily, "Why don't you guess?"
Dylan was speechless.
He knew he could not outwit Jonas, nor could he outmaneuver Scott when it came to schemes. Fine, might as well stop beating around the bush.
"Scott didn't tell you, so I'll spill it." Dylan sounded resigned but also a little smug. "If you didn't call, I wouldn't have said anything. But since you did, and I happen to be in a good mood, here it is—Scott got beaten up."
His delivery was abrupt, catching Jonas
