Chapter 1124
It was 6 p.m., and this was usually when the Goodwins would sit down for dinner. That night, however, was different, because Naomi had informed her parents that she would not be joining them for dinner, and would be meeting Charles instead.
Without Naomi around, Donna prepared a few simple dishes for her and Dean—some roasted garlic chicken, boiled potatoes, and a side salad. Nothing too fancy, as it was only the two of them.
Dean usually joined his wife and daughter for dinner as soon as he got home from work, and that day was no exception. He had arrived just in time to help Donna out in the kitchen before their meal.
Just as they were setting the table, they heard a knock on the door. Dean immediately said, "I'll go get it."
"It can't be Naomi, right? She can't possibly be home so soon, can she?" Donna wondered aloud.
