Chapter 1
It’s too late...
She was diagnosed with advanced brain cancer with only one month left. She no longer wanted to do those futile struggles.
Walking out of the law firm, Sam took out her mobile phone, opened WeChat and dialed the name that she was so familiar with. But, her fingertips paused on the keyboard for a long time before pressing the voice button.
Taking a deep breath, she asked in the softest voice, "Luke, can you come back to accompany me tonight?"
The voice message was sent successfully, but there was no reply for a long time.
In spite of this, Sam drove to the vegetable market near the community and picked up a variety of vegetables and meat products.
The hustle and dirtiness of the vegetable market is something she is not used to, but she forced herself to get used to it. Once, she was the envious lady of the Doughlas’ in the hearts of thousands of people. But now, she is just Luke’s wife.
She wanted to do something for him in the end, although he may not need it at all or even hate her existence.
"Ding!"
The phone vibrated. Sam, who put the food in the car, couldn't wait to turn on the phone. When she saw Luke replying to her voice messaged, she laughed like a kid with a candy.
However, when she pressed the voice, he was as cold and indifferent as before. With a hint of sarcasm he said, "I haven't seen you for a month."
He still hates her, but it's okay. Since he didn't say he had an appointment, even if he was cynic, he would definitely be back for dinner tonight.
Thinking about this, Sam drove home non-stop and then carefully prepared a variety of dishes.
Three hours later, when she put the last bowl of soup on the table, she heard the sound of the door lock turning. She turned around in surprise and she saw Luke appeared in the living room.
However, unlike her, Luke's face is always cold and sharp.
"Luke, you're back." Sam smiled and walked to Luke, trying to reach out and take his briefcase.
Luke took a step back in disgust and threw the briefcase on the sofa.
He couldn't understand why this woman was like a sticky sheet that no matter how he ridiculed her or get rid of her, she would always look as if nothing had happened.
"Luke, shall we eat?"
Twisting herself tightly together, her fingers whitened by the force hiding behind her. Sam pressed her grief and walked to the dining table first.
"You really are not over yet, are you?"
Luke also walked to the dining table, but his handsome face looked so cold and not warm under the crystal lamp in the living room.
He bowed his head, glanced at the exquisite dishes on the table, raised his eyebrows and suddenly laughed sarcastically, "If he only knew that his beloved daughter is now so cheap, he would have come out of his coffin."
It has been five years since she became Mrs. Johnson, but Luke Johnson has always been so cold to her. She thought she could get used to it and adapt to it, but the fact is she's still hurt.
It hurts. "Luke, my father is dead. Can we stop..."
"That's what he deserves!!", Luke's voice suddenly rose.
His handsome face tightened to its limit and said, "From the way he forced me to marry you back then, you can see that he, who is accustomed to using despicable means, does not know how much he has done!"
Thinking of this, he suddenly sneered. He pulled off the tablecloth on the dining table and said, "It's smashing!" The food ,that had taken a long time to cook, all fell to the ground along with the plates.
But, Luke didn't care at all. As soon as he grasped Sam's slender wrist, he forcefully threw her on the dining table.
Looking condescendingly at the woman who was always at her mercy, Luke ripped off her dress.
"However, since Mrs. Johnson begged me to accompany her for one night. I am willing to let her father see how desolate his daughter looks!"
As the voice dropped, he turned Sam's body in one direction and shagged her from behind without foreplay. From Sam's angle, as soon as she raised her head, she could see the portrait of her father in the living room.
