Chapter Thirteen- Difficult Decisions
Abraham Adams was a smart man. He was equipped with the best lawyer who could cover his mistakes. Lenora knew of this man since she was child. She had seen him last when she was around twelve and then she saw him at her father’s funeral.
The man was a stern lawyer but a dear friend of Abraham. Meeting his eyes was like a blow to the head; they sympathized with her.
Lenora didn’t appreciate the pity. No one was there to help her and now they pitied her. The thought added to her misery and weighed her down rather than helped lift her up.
One particular early morning, Lenora woke up to see an email from her father’s lawyer. He was requesting a meeting with her. It must have been important if he was reaching out to her rather than Nancy, Lenora’s mother.
What could he want?
Lenora thought back to the funeral and how he stared at her with pity. She knew this meeting would be emotional.
