Chapter Eleven- Snakes & Serpents

Everyone watched with hawk-like eyes as a tired Lenora entered the room. The woman couldn't care less as to what was going on. She didn’t care if anyone made snide comments. What difference would it make? James was waiting patiently next to the door. As soon as he saw his madam entering, he was quick to dash towards her. “Mrs Levine. You’re back? You must be tired. Would you like some dinner? I can ask the kitchen staff to make something.” Lenora had barely any energy to walk to her room let alone feed herself. “No thank you. I would just like to lie down.” Lenora was a sight to behold as she passed by the living room and all the people’s following eyes. Dressed all in black with a net hat to match, no makeup smeared her face as she went up the stairs. Lenora could feel Ares' eyes on her. She could smell the cigarette as she went up the first few steps, the object between his fingers nearly burnt out. “Excuse me for a moment.” Lenora halted her movements, alr
