Chapter 19
She had a look that was full of pain and disappointment, with unnecessary coldness. Richie frowned, as if feeling a gaze, he looked at the direction he felt it and his eyes were locked with Joanna's sad and desperate eyes. His heart trembled and he actually felt a pang guilt. He forced himself to shake off the inexplicable emotions, patted Yana's shoulder gently, and said gently, "You play first, I'll come over later."
Today, Yana was wearing a light yellow A-line skirt with bangs and long pony tails behind her head. She looks like an innocent student. When she heard Richie say this, her big eyes showed some panic, and she tugged gently. His clothes corner whispered, "Richie, I, I don't even know them."
Richie showed some pity in his eyes and stretched out his hand to rub her bangs, "Don't be afraid, they’re all my friends, you stay here a while, I will come over soon."
Yana nodded and let go of her hand obediently. After Richie turned around, her eyes showed some other deep meaning.
Joanna’s wrist was grabbed by someone and her face turned pale by such force, but she pursed her lips and said nothing more. Richie pulled her to a secluded place with a calm face, then threw his hand away, staring at her with gloomy eyes, "Who will let you in? Why are you here?"
Joanna burst into laughter instead of grief and anger.
"I also want to know who asked me to come. Was it you? Are you really Richie? Is it your purpose to be ridiculed and insulted me in front everyone? Apart from loving you, what did I do to make you treat me like this? To hate me so much?"
A hint of surprise flashed in Richie's eyes. He had never seen Joanna so emotionally out of control. Even if he was in front of her, she could do anything like calmly slapping those women, turn around and make trouble unreasonably. It's the first time for him to experience this.
He furrowed his eyebrows and sneered, "You drive away Yana, it's enough for me to hate you for a lifetime."
Joanna was embarrassed, the blood on her face faded, and a heart was smashed to pieces. She looked at the person in front of her who she had been in love for five years. Her eyes were blurred with tears, but she refused to fall even though she was very slow. She sighed and said softly, "What if I told you that it was me who brought you back from Wufeng Mountain?"
"Don't you feel sick just making up such a lie?"
Richie interrupted her with disdain, "I warn you, either you go back now. If you don't go back and not mess with me here, then even if I tear down my dignity of my grandfather, I will get us divorce!"
Joanna could only look at his decisive back as tears finally fell.
Joanna felt like she was given mental abuse. She knew that staying here would only be embarrassing, but she couldn't take a step to leave. Everything he did together with that woman was like a sharp knife inserted into her heart. The blood that flows out of it is fresh and hot, but her body remains cold.
As if nothing happened, Richie casually walked back to Yana, picked up the wine glass, and whispered a few words to her in a low voice.
Yana's cheeks blushed and she glanced at him teasingly. In her beautiful eyes, there contained countless affection.
Joanna clenched her fists tightly that her nails dug into her palms. She used the pain to distract her battered heart.
"Madame, Ma’am..."
Jalen obviously didn't expect to meet Joanna here. He was ashamed even when he offered a mink coat in his hand.
Joanna turned her head, eyes deep as water, looking at him quietly without a trace of emotion. There was no sadness or anything. Jalen's face was hot and his eyes were guilty. Looking at those eyes, he couldn't even apologize.
Joanna didn't say a word to him, she just wiped her shoulders and left. Jalen looked at her bleak back and tightened the coat in his hands. Over the years, he knew better than anyone about Joanna's affection for Richie. how many men would ask for something like that. But being abandoned by him like a shoe that lost it’s pair. he raised his eyes and took a deep look at the woman in Richie's arms, and sighed inaudibly. Hopefully, when Mr. Gu finally understands it, he won't regret it.
The mink coat was draped on Yana's shoulders. Richie carefully helped her close it and spoke in a low voice, "I said, I don't have to be so particular about it. You have to wear it so thinly. You have just been employed now and you will be doing things like this in the future. There are many occasions like this. Take your time to practice and don’t force yourself."
Yana lowered her eyes and said softly, "People have to learn to be strong. After all, no one will stay by your side, right?"
Richie felt a pain in his heart and couldn't help touching her cheek, "There will always be someone."
Yana frowned slightly, this expression flashed by quickly and her expression turned back to her docile and polite self. she smiled and said in a relaxed tone, "Go and find your friends over there. They all called you. It’s been several times, and they like staying with you more.
Richie looked at the young man over there waving at him, he hesitated and asked her, "Is it okay for you to be alone?"
