Chapter 16
In the cold night, Joanna felt like a wandering soul, with nowhere to go. She didn’t want to go back to their couple’s home that seemed like a joke to her, nor did she want her father to worry about her. When the driver asked her where she was going, she was at a loss.
Over the years, her whole heart was devoted to Richie, and before she knew it, Jillian was the only friend beside her.
Jillian picked her up in the activity center downstairs of the apartment. She was almost freezing. She didn't ask anything, she just took her home and threw her to the bathroom. When she was warmed up by the heat, she regained some of her sanity. When she came out, Jillian was fixing the bed, and she didn't look back when she heard the footsteps, her voice was dull.
"Congratulations, a single marriage has become a threesome."
Joanna lowered her eyes and said nothing.
Jillian sighed, then turned to sit on the edge of the bed and patted the bed, "Come on, I'm the only one who doesn't dislike you."
Joanna sat down next to her and was silent for a long time before saying bitterly, "One by one I try to remember, but have I ever told you that Richie once said he liked me?"
Jillian was stunned and said nothing.
No one insisted on a hopeless relationship from the beginning, and she was one of them.
In her most beautiful years, she met Richie. With the intention of his grandfather Xenon, the young couple grew in love, but when the seeds of love had just sprouted, they were cut off by an accident. Richie was in that accident. And Richie received his true love, but she lost him by accident.
"Today, Grandpa asked me to tell him the truth. I want to tell him, but you know what, when I saw them together, I suddenly understood that even if the accident was intentional, who could say that it was not love? Even if I said it, in his eyes, it was just my despicable means that break them up. There seems to be no way out between me and him. "
Joanna touched her cheek, her eyes were so dry that she couldn't cry.
"So are you planning to end it?"
"I don't know," Joanna smiled bitterly, "I know in my heart that I still love him, but to just let it go, I can't just do it no matter how I think about it. Jillian, do you know how it feels to love someone? If one day he falls out of love on you. You will never get to be with him again when you open your eyes and you will never have him again in your life, that scares me more than death."
"You’re latching onto a bladed edge that is Richie. You can't listen to what other people say. I don't want to persuade you. But as long as you think it's worth it, and as long as you don't regret it, then do it."
Jillian shook her head and handed her the mobile phone on the table, "Someone on your social media account has sent you a private message, looks like the owner of the cat."
"Cat?"
Joanna was taken aback, stood up, panicked, "Oh no, I lost the cat!"
...
Jensen gave Tammy medicine and when he was about to take a bath, the phone rang. He picked it up and saw that the caller ID indicated that it was the "perpetrator", but he cut it off.
But soon the call came again and he frowned before picking it up.
"Are you Mr. Li who privately messaged me on social media?"
The female voice over there was a bit familiar and Jensen was taken aback and forgot to move.
Seeing that he didn't speak, Joanna continued on, "Is the cat in the photo yours? I’m sorry, I had something to do today, but now I’ve seen your message."
It turned out that it was her again. And that’s where a hint of interest in appeared in Jensen's eyes. How much of a coincidence was it.
"Hello? Mr. Li, are you listening?"
Jensen glanced at the hair ball and said lightly, "The cat is mine. Is it with you?"
The magnetic bass over there made Joanna stunned, and then he stubbornly said, "It was originally with me, but today I took it to the hospital to see a doctor and I accidentally lost it."
Lost? She obviously forgot!
Mr. Li curled up his legs, sat on the sofa, squinted his eyes and patted the cat, "So you’re calling this time and telling me you lost my cat?"
"No, uh, I forget it, right?"
Joanna felt a bit lacking in terms of words. It was obvious that she was good at picking up cats. Why was she feeling like she was being blackmailed now?
"The pet hospital has surveillance. I know who stole the cat. Don't worry, Mr. Li, I will try my best to find it for you."
Stole? Jensen's face turned black.
Seeing that the other side was not talking, Joanna was also uncertain of the other's attitude, and then whispered, "Mr. Li, what do you think?"
Jensen squinted his eyes and curled the corners of his lips, he didn’t know whether he wanted to laugh or not. He spoke, "I'm so tired of it."
Joanna was stunned. She always felt that the other party seemed to have bitten the word "trouble". She put aside her strange idea and said, "it should be my fault. Before your cat is found, you can call me if you have any situation. You can call this phone-call me, my last name is Mo, Joanna."
