She didn't really think he’d answer affirmatively. It was very unlikely that they weren’t legally married, since marriage was usually the cornerstone of wealth for rich families. But still, she held her breath.
"No,” he blurted out. Vera’s eyes nearly fell off their sockets. Judith looked like someone had struck her.
“No,” Sean repeated. “The wedding was not registered. Technically it’s not official," Sean said, somewhat lightheartedly.
"Sean, no..."
At first, Judith Song was a little panicked, but then calmed down. She figured Sean would never reveal their true relationship, since that would endanger not just her but also himself.
Well, she was wrong.
Sean knew that this matter was a landmine, but he took the risk. He felt that this was his only opportunity to actually convince Vera. Otherwise, she’d never believe him.
