Chapter 11

　　“My name is Vera Qin and I am a software engineer from MT headquarters.” 　　Vera calmly stretched out her hand and greeted the frowning and indifferent man in front of her. 　　Sean merely looked down at her slender hands. The woman in front of him was the same one he had met on the plane, but she was dressed much more casually then. 　　Seeing that Sean Qiao did not respond, the secretary hurriedly spoke to ease the tension. 　　“This is Mr. Sean Qiao, the president of Qiao Group.” 　　Embarrassed, Vera Qin quickly retracted her hand. She did not expect him to be so cold and arrogant. That’s the problem with the older generation letting their spoiled children inherit multinational businesses like these, she mused. They’re so detached from reality, so entitled. 　　Vera Qin smiled indifferently. “As expected, the president of Qiao Group is a Qiao.” 　　Seeing Vera Qin’s slightly mocking eyes, Sean Qiao was unhappy. 　　“You’re late for work on the first day, and I now doubt your ability.” 　　Vera Qin didn’t expect Sean Qiao to greet subordinates like this, and unconsciously raised the corners of her mouth. 　　“Mr. Qiao, I have already reported to the software development department before coming here, but your staff’s communication speed is limited. I came here to say hello, and thank you for the apartment arranged for me. Anything can be made to look good on paper. 　　“Our time is limited, so let’s get to the point.” Sean Qiao’s cold voice signalled for the applause to stop abruptly, embarrassing Vera again. 　　Vera sat down, puzzled at his behavior. 　　Was Mr. Qiao always like this, or did he deliberately target her? 　　She had arrived back early and didn’t inform the company. Had she violated any of the rules, or had this cold and arrogant man simply singled her out on a whim? 　　The host had been ordered to question her. He did not dare to disobey, and so he began, “Director Qin, please tell us about the operating principles and application lineup of the software.” 　　“This is dependent upon what price points the company wants to produce. Whatever the company wishes to offer its customers, I am responsible for selecting the chips, and matching these with software. Only then can we determine the actual operating principles and applications to be included.” 　　She still looked confident. Not one person in the room could find anything wrong with what she had said. 　　For today’s meeting, Vera Qin was well prepared. She had already come up with her own unique ideas that she wanted to share. It didn’t matter to her if they tried to put her on the spot, she believes that she could deal with any questions they had for her. 　　But looking at Sean Qiao’s arrogant demeanor, she knew that to reveal her ideas now would most certainly elicit a negative response from him. For now, she would keep these to herself. chances are, he would only throw roadblocks in her way. She wouldn’t say anything, but wait until the finished product comes out, and let her work speak for itself. 　　“Moving on, I am here to give technical guidance to maximize the hardware and the software,” she began. 　　This time Vera Qin’s words made everyone in the room look at each other. This special engineer had the balls to meet their president head-on. 　　The host was a little embarrassed and didn’t know how to continue. As soon as he opened his mouth to speak, Sean Qiao’s cold voice interrupted him.
