With that thought in mind, Charlotte raised her hand and pointed toward the plainest, most understated piece in the entire boutique. Then, she glanced at the three sales associates clustered around Trina.
"I'll take that one in a medium size," she said flatly, without pleasantries.
Courtesy, after all, was reserved for people who actually deserved it.
The three saleswomen suddenly burst into laughter. It was hard to tell if they were laughing at something funny or just laughing at her. Either way, not one of them acknowledged her request.
"Oh, that's so funny!" Trina took a dainty sip from her elaborately decorated coffee cup and smirked, her pinky finger elegantly lifted. "What's the holdup? She's calling for you girls."
Only then did one of them saunter over.
Charlotte, unbothered, began slowly walking along the displays, pointing at several clothes as she went.
"You're picking out quite a few outfits. Are you sure you can afford them?"
