I glanced at the phone after Celine abruptly ended the call, furrowing my brows.
"What's wrong with her?"
I was concerned, though I shouldn't be. I ruffled the back of my hair, groaning under my breath.
I itched to know why she was pissed, but I knew better than calling again to confirm it.
I would have my ears blown off with not just Grandpa's tirades tonight. I had an idea of what could be pissing her off, though.
"I shouldn't have interfered." Regret attacked, making my belly clench.
The news had been focused entirely on her. I had been taken out of the picture, even though I had been the main perpetrator of the act of disrespect against the Upper Echelon.
"Those bastards deserved it," I gritted through my teeth, my hands balling into fists at my sides.
That was the thing about power that I hated. It favored those who wielded it, even though they were good as incapable idiots.
I wished I had more influence than them. I wished I could help...
