Chapter One Hundred and Thirty Three: A Son's Resentment, A Father's Regret

I got a call from dad when I arrived home from work. I stifled a yawn with the back of my palm, my eyes watering.
I was exhausted from the day's stress.
Taking responsibility for myself was harder than I thought, but I loved the new me.
I loved the sense of purpose I always had after the end of each day.
It was now that I thought I was actually living. All the time that I had only been partying around as a rebellion, I knew that I was only wasting my life.
And I was hurting myself greater than I did any other person.
I got down from the car and locked the doors.
My phone vibrated again as I walked toward the entrance to my apartment.
I answered the call and raised the phone to my ear. "Yes, Dad."
"Trevor, how are you doing?"
"I'm good," i replied, typing in the passcode to my apartment.
It unlocked with a faint beep, and I walked in.
I closed the door behind me, and it automatically locked in place.
