Chapter One Hundred and Twenty Nine: Fractured Relationships
Chairman Holden
"Haven't you gotten in touch with her yet?" Chairman Lawrence asked, making his shot.
His golf ball shot through the air and landed several distance away from the hole.
He was losing his touch. I noticed.
It must be that age was creeping up on the two of us.
"She may be busy. She will call me back when she sees my call."
"Let's take a break," Chairman Lawrence said, holding one side of his waist.
"You won't say that if you had been winning," I teased him, smiling.
He adjusted the cap on his head, grunting. "I'm unable to focus. That's all. It's nothing. Maybe next time, I will feel up to it."
"Or we can go fishing," I suggested.
"I have no luck doing that either."
I nodded. "What a luck you have!"
Chairman Lawrence's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
"You have a good head standing on your shoulders, but you are not proficient in sports."
"Not anymore," he clarified. "Could you say that to my younger self?"
I raised both hands up in surrender. "I dare not
