I remembered I didn't call Trevor back after he called last night.
It was late afternoon before my mind flashed to that. I grabbed my phone and texted him.
Me: Hi. How are you doing?
I set my phone aside and continued to work.
Several minutes later, I checked to see if Trevor had replied.
I didn't hear my notification alarm go off.
He hadn't replied.
I was bothered about the way he had apologized last night and ended the call.
Was he upset with me? Did he need to talk? Did something happen last night?
Thoughts went through my head, making it ache.
I shoved my fingers through my hair and released a sigh.
I dialed his number, but he didn't pick up.
Now, I was uncomfortable.
I texted him again.
Me: I'm sorry about the way I snapped at you last night. I was cranky because my sleep was disturbed. You couldn't have known that I would be asleep at that time ...
