It was Monday again, and I was back to the daily grind.
My hands fly on my keyboard as I typed. I answered calls through the day and went on meetings with executives and employees.
I always loved the Monday rush. It coursed a higher degree of adrenaline through my blood than racing on a glass bridge.
But, spending time with Trevor was getting more fun as working in a frenzy had been to me.
I had thought I was a recluse–I thrived better in solidarity–but Trevor had changed that opinion of mine.
"It's time for the celebration, Director Holden," Rachel informed me when she stepped into my office.
I paused my fingers on my mouse.
I watched her over the rim of my glass, pursing my mouth in a subtle frown.
Rachel's eyebrow twitched. "I'm sorry, Director Holden. Is this a bad time?"
