"Are you sure you can do this?" I asked Trevor as we sat on the speedboat.
"Are you gonna believe those mofos over me?"
"Those mofos are your family," I chided him, slapping him on the arm. "No matter how bad your family are, you shouldn't make such derogatory remarks about them."
"Well, that's because they actually deserve them. They have never once believed in my ability. Look at how they all talked down on me in front of your grandpa and you."
I understood that he might have felt embarrassed. That was why I decided to go with him.
"Just so you know. I'm scared of dying early."
"I thought you had no emotions," he teased, revving the engine.
I rolled my eyes, wrapping my arms around his waist.
His back felt warm against my cheek.
"Ooh! That feels good. We should do this often." Trevor shivered.
"Just drive and get me out of here before I change my mind about going with you."
"Sure, ma'am. Hold on tight."
I did. And he sped off into the distance.
