Chapter 16

"What happened to you?" I ask Beth when she sat down at our table in the cafeteria. I noticed that she looks grumpy and has a pissed off expression on her face. She sighs heavily, "I almost got a detention in my science class this morning." "What happened?" I ask surprised. "This girl was pissing me off and we started a heated argument in class." She takes up a fry and put it in her mouth and then looks at me. "Can you believe she had the nerve to talk about Brian's mother?" She stated irritated. "Who is that? Do I know her?" I ask. "You've probably seen her around. Her name is Aubrey." She informs. "Yeah, I've seen her. What did she say?" I ask. "She came and sat beside me and asked if I was prepared to be with a guy who is a potential drunk and who will spend the rest of his life in rehab. So I asked her what she was talking about." She explains. "With as much arrogance, she stated that one day Brian is going to end up like his mother." "She really said that?" I ask.
