When I got home, Connor was sprawled across the cushion, reading from the magazine that had me on the cover. He raised his eyes and frowned when I walked in. "Why the gloomy face, grumpy?" je asked but I ignored him and looked around for any sign of Summer. "If it's my little sister you are looking for, don't worry. Mom's come to get her already. You won't have to worry about her anymore." I pasted a fake smile on my face amidst my aching heart and started to walk past him and up the stairs, looking for a moment of solitude and self-reflection. "Kenz. Everything okay with you?" His voice called after me and his tone had worry and concern on it. "I'm fine," I replied. "I just want to be left alone," I answered and continued my walk upstairs.
