CHAPTER SIXTY THREE – THE CREW
Joan arrived at the Vehara Institute thirty minutes early, her heart pounding with a mix of nervousness and excitement. The receptionist, a friendly woman named Sarah, offered her water and directed her to a sleek waiting area.
As she sat, smoothing her skirt for the hundredth time, Joan took in her surroundings. The clinic exuded an air of professionalism and cutting-edge innovation. Modern art adorned the walls, and the latest psychology journals were neatly arranged on a nearby table.
At precisely 10:00 AM, a door opened, and a stern-looking woman emerged. "Ms. Keppler? I'm Dr. Amelia Vehar. Please come in."
Joan stood, taking a deep breath to steady herself. "Thank you, Dr. Vehar. It's a pleasure to meet you."
As she followed Dr. Vehar into the office, Joan was surprised to see two other people already seated. Dr. Vehar made quick introductions.
"This is Dr. Marcus Chen, our head of research, and Dr. Lydia Patel, our senior clinician. They'll be joining us for the interview."
