CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY NINE – SPACE TO GROW
Three months had passed since the embezzlement scandal, and the Lighthouse Counselling Centre had not only survived but thrived. Joan's quick action and transparency had earned her the trust and respect of her clients and staff alike. Now, as she stood in the beautifully decorated reception area, she couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.
"Is everything ready for the party, Mark?" she asked, adjusting a vase of flowers on the front desk.
Mark grinned, clipboard in hand. "All set, boss. The caterers are setting up in the conference room, and the decorations look great. Oh, and I've confirmed RSVPs from everyone's families."
Joan nodded, a mix of excitement and nervousness fluttering in her stomach. "Excellent. And, um... any word from our special guest?"
Mark's grin widened. "Mr. Fratelli's assistant called to confirm his attendance. He'll be here."
