Chapter Nineteen
Maxine's Point of View
Three days passed quietly. Yes, quiet. Not a single mess went through my life during those three days. And hopefully today too. Because my life is so quiet, I feel even more nervous. I just gasped because I didn't know if I should be happy or if I should really be nervous.
While walking to the cafeteria to buy something to eat, a woman stopped in front of me causing me to stop walking. She presented me with an envelope that really surprised me. Even though I was hesitant whether to take it or not, I still decided to just take it. And when I got the envelope, the woman who reached out immediately ran away from me.
My forehead furrowed and I pocketed the envelope first. I will buy food first before reading that. And just minutes after queuing I had already bought my food.
