You are okay

The ride back home was extremely quiet that Richard hadn’t noticed how serene Elaine was until they got home, his mind was entirely occupied with having a baby that he had no idea Elaine was sad all through. He turned to her and saw her teary eyes reflected from the window. A sense of nervousness and anxiety weigh on him. “What’s wrong?” he asked facing her fully. “I just...” the tears dropped from her eyes just hearing about it. “I mean, I should be happy about having my first baby but I can't help but feel sad about it” she expressed. “What do you mean?” he asked confused. She turned to face him, her eyes red with tears and her nose watery. He took out his handkerchief and gave it to her. She wiped her tears and did not care about her nose. He picked up a wet napkin and did it instead. “Tell me” he inquired. “This is supposed to be the happiest day of my life, realizing that I would have my baby. I would my own child after all these years but don't you think fate is too cruel to me?”
