Sean didn’t seem to welcome Zayden. When he realized no one was behind Zayden, he immediately turned away, acting as if the man in front of him was not his grandson but a stranger.

Meeting his gaze, Rose shrank behind Sean, shivering with fear. To be honest, she was the idlest member of the family.
Zayden was not here to gossip, so he said, “Grandpa, I need to talk to my mom.”
“Go on,” Sean replied, not raising his head.
After Zayden walked into the house, Rose drew a chair and sat down. She smiled and said to Sean, “Are not you being a little harsh on Zayden, Dad? He only comes here once in a while.”
