Chapter 41: Misunderstanding
Just as she hesitated, Jeremiah Kenneth pointed to the red light on the camera, "If I'm not mistaken, you probably can't get in through that door right now."
Even though Natalie Silvestre had anticipated this moment, it still pained her.
She took a deep breath, quickly calming herself, and pressed the doorbell.
The wait felt excruciatingly long for Natalie Silvestre.
She realized that the feeling of something happening as she had imagined beforehand was completely different from when it actually happened.
The door opened, revealing the elderly face of the butler.
The butler's face lit up with surprise.
"Miss, I thought you wouldn't come back!"
"What's wrong? Is the door lock broken?"
"Why did you need to ring the doorbell?"
"We have a new person opening the door now. Fortunately, I happened to be passing by today, and the person who opened the door is not here. Otherwise, I can't imagine what a big misunderstanding it would have caused!"
The butler's tone was exaggerated.
